ABOUT ME
Hi There! My name is Julie, and I am a licensed esthetican and freelance makeup artist, for both motion picture and still photography.
I began my career path as an entertainer; for well over a decade I made my living as a cabaret and musical theatre performer. My background is in theatre, where I hold a BA in Music and Theatre with a Dance minor, and an MFA in Acting. I've performed, taught, written, directed, designed and owned a theatre for five years . . . but what I found I really loved at the core of it was the magic of transformation.
I loved the power of a team to transform a bare stage into a wonderland, of designers and artists and actors who transform words on page into a living thing, of the power of the story to transform everyone hearing it.
That may be romanticizing what I do a bit, but I'm very aware of the rigors and expectations of production work. When I started pursuing makeup as a career, I returned to school and got my esthetics license, as well as studying makeup for film with Marietta Carter-Narcisse.
I'm familar with on set protocol, and can provide references upon request.
Between production gigs, I have a small studio in the suburbs of Indianapolis, where I provide makeup and esthetic services.
I love what I do, and am always excited to help you with your makeup goals, from bridal or special event makeup to killing it (literally) at Halloween with over the top FX work. I strive to stay current with continuing education, and never pass up an opportunity to assist a fellow artist.
